Malta is not just about sun and sea. There is so much more to discover and Winter is the perfect season to do so. With temperatures as low as +15° Celcius in December and January, rural Malta awaits you.
One of the most fascinating parts of Malta is the area comprising of the villages around Blue Grotto. Apart from the village hamlet in Wied iz-Zurrieq, you are invited to discover the old windmills that used to mill corn and wheat from the surrounding fields.
We recommend to follow this walk on foot or on bicycle to enjoy the countryside with spotted with windmills, churches and chapels, towers, catacombs and breathtaking views off the cliffs.
